PRESSURE
Dear Diary,
I work hard. I’m sure everyone says that to save their hide from getting lectured. I always did my homework and turned it in on time. Then it was time for college admission. This meant standardized tests. It is so much pressure to do well at these tests like nothing else matters. You can have the best gpa but you can absolutely suck at taking tests. Why does this system weigh so heavily on standardized tests to get scholarships. The amount of pressure to take a test and a lot different than doing your homework at a leisurely pace. For instance, I graduated with 3.6 gpa and I did not do well on my ACT. I get such bad test anxiety that my brain shuts down. How is that fair when I spent 13 years of my life doing my homework and asking questions and showing up to class. Why is that negated? What about the circumstance of life for a student at that time? It makes a difference. Bottom line is standardized tests are a scam to the potential of students.
