LONELINESS

Dear Diary,

When I first came to MTSU two years ago I had no idea what to expect, but extreme lonliness and isolation wasn’t one of them. I’ve always managed to make friends wherever I’ve gone, but MTSU was just a different story. I’d always walk alone, sit alone, think alone. I just couldn’t make friends and I didn’t know why, I felt like something was wrong with me and that no one wanted to know me. Living alone further drove me deeper into a dark depression. I started to become jealous and upset when I’d see people on campus walking and laughing together. All the pretty girls had it easy I thought, everyone wants to be their friend. Honestly I was glad to transition fully online, because then at least I wouldnt have to see all the laughing and happy people together everyday.
