HOME.
Dear Diary,
The most important thing I’ve learned in college has been the importance of being home. Not with my family, but in a place where planting my feet on the ground feels like an awakening. I’m not religious, but I treat this campus like a blessing. I am invigorated and refreshed by what I do here, and I feel like I’m making a difference by merely learning about my passions. I grew up understanding that a house didn’t necessarily mean a home. I love my family, don’t get me wrong, but the roof over my head didn’t immediately translate to being home. Being here, on campus, breathing the air of my university every day *is* home. If you don’t feel like you’re at home, I encourage you to go out there and find the place. Your heart belongs somewhere. Go into the world and locate the place that you never want to leave and cherish that place. When my time is done, I know that I’ll miss being here.
