BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS

Every time I hear the song “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” by Green Day, I’m instantly back in my mom’s vehicle driving to my boyfriend’s billet’s house. He played hockey in the small town and this was a burnt CD I had in her car.

I still remember the order of songs…

  • Collide - Howie Day

  • Wherever You Will Go - The Calling

  • Leaving - Jesse McCartney

The cd is long gone - not even sure I have the means to play it if I ever find it - but it was a damn good one!

Not the point…

Isn’t it crazy how the butterflies can still come up from hearing a song?

They put us back into a time in our lives and bring up all the emotion and feelings.

It’s deja vu - your brain telling you to remember - and when it randomly pops up into my “Oldies” playlist it 1) reminds me of the oldie I am now (haha!) and 2) reminds me of a time of falling hard for a small town hockey player.

It will always put a smile on my face as falling hard for love in the early 2000s had a lot of good memories.
